New web projects in September
We finished several Soxer-based projects in September.
Soxer has proved itself as speedy and useful tool for web site creation and management.
The absence of RDBMS layer (and it’s inherited complexity) enables unprecedented flexibility. Most web projects, corporate websites, blogs and catalogs do not need the complexities of classic CMS systems.
We have also started using Git as our versioning system. It has prooven useful in multi user environment, adding little administration overhead. As Soxer is a file based system, Git seems to be ideal version tracking and development system.
Soxer has pooven itself stable in the past months. We are going to move it’s developement to Github and label it ‘beta’ instead of ‘alpha’ soon. We intend to package Soxer and related tools into Gem format for easy download and dependency resolution. Gem will also include al skeleton directories and tools for quick-and-easy website creation (“pret-a-portal”, “pret-a-blog”, “pret-a-corporate-web” etc…)
