Mladinska Knjiga - Lego robotics web portal
The http://www.zabavnoucenje.si portal is a source of information for teachers. Robotics is entering the education system and Mladinska Knjiga portal enables teachers to search for information and download free content regarding lego robotics.
Lego education web portal is a special case, because it features a small database of products. Soxer not generally ment for data centric application, but sometimes one needs to improvize.
Many times a project goal will change during the development phase, but changing it during implementation is usually very costly in terms of time and finance.
The structure of the “non-database” is in document YAML files. It could easily be implemented in a RDBMS, but current solutions is more than satisfactory. Soxer has enabled us to circumvent development of database models and input forms. We have only developed a ‘view’ and a tiny controller for it.
Meanwhile Soxer has boosted it’s visitors count on a completely unimportant detail: a jQuery plugin for smooth background tweening. We have developed this plugin for http://www.zabavnoucenje.si in a couple of minutes. Both pages have recieved a 10-20 fold boost in visitor count.
